Kickstands Up! 125 Years of Motorcycling in the PNW
Ride 125 years of backroads, city streets, mud runs, and racetracks with MOHAI and the Pacific Northwest Museum of Motorcycling! Featuring vintage and historic motorcycles and gear, photographs, and stories from behind the handlebars, Kickstands Up! highlights the role motorcycles have played as working vehicles, as racing machines, and as a means to explore the magnificent landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
The exhibit traces the history of motorcycling in the region, starting with the first motorcycle to arrive in Seattle in 1901. Along the way visitors will encounter technological innovations, epic journeys, thrilling competitions, and fights for justice. They will explore the culture and communities that have grown up around motorcycles – including communities of “outsiders” who have not always felt welcome. The exhibit ends with recent developments in adventuring, motorcycle sports, and electric vehicles, as we imagine “the road ahead” for motorcycles in the Pacific Northwest.
You'll catch some of Eastside Harley's personal history in the exhibit as well!
Exhibit developed by MOHAI in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Museum of Motorcycling. On view in the Walker Gallery November 28, 2025 through April 26, 2026.
