Requirements are simple:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid motorcycle operator’s license.
- A major credit card for a $1000 security deposit (no cash or check on deposit).
- The skills, knowledge, confidence and experience to operate a heavyweight motorcycle in a safe manner.
How to reserve a Rental:
The way to get the bike you want is to reserve it early. Availability of motorcycles for rental depends upon the day and what’s already rented. If you have a specific model in mind, especially in the summer months, you will get the best results if you book a reservation as soon as you have a specific date in mind. Walk-in rentals are always welcome, but you will be limited to the selection of what is not already out or reserved.
You may either stop in to the dealership or call us to make a reservation. If you have the following information ready when you reserve your rental, it will expedite the process the day you pick up the motorcycle:
- Please understand the Minimum Rental Requirements.
- Have your Driver’s license ready.
- Have a model in mind.
- Have the dates and times you wish to rent in mind.
- Check with your Insurance company to see if you are covered on the rental. You are not required to take the insurance we offer, but you will be liable for the full value of the motorcycle, as well as any damages to person or property you may incur.
- Let us know if you will be carrying a passenger and any helmet or raingear requirements you may have. Passengers must be present at the time of pick-up to sign the appropriate paperwork.
Insurance & Loss/Damage Waiver
You may have your own insurance for your personal vehicle, but be advised that most insurance companies will not cover a rental motorcycle, even if they will cover a rental car. Before you rely on your insurance company to cover your rental experience, give them a call and make sure you will be covered.
When you rent a motorcycle, you effectively take ownership of the bike for the time you are renting it. This means that you are responsible for the full value of the bike and any damages in the event of an accident. Eastside Harley offers two types of supplemental insurance and a Loss/Damage Waiver to offset this responsibility:
Loss/Damage Waiver ($40 per day)
Buys down your responsibility for the value of the motorcycle to $2500 for damage or $5000 for theft. (This is not insurance, but a service we offer as a dealer.)
Supplemental Liability Ins. ($13.50 per day)
Liability coverage of up to $1,000,000 on damage to another person or their property.
Personal Accident/ Personal Property Ins. ($9.85 per day)
Covers up to $2500 each for the rider and passenger on accidental medical expenses whether on or off the bike. $50,000 accidental death benefit for the rider, $25,000 for the passenger. Also covers up to $750 per person of your property whether you are on or off the motorcycle.
All three coverages available for $50 a day.
